David Fletcher, Interim Pastor

The Rev. David Fletcher is a Houston native. He grew up in Pasadena, Texas, and graduated from Austin
College and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas. Although he spent growing- up and education times in Texas, he has served churches in Charlotte, NC, Wynne, ARK, Houston, TX, and Tulsa,
OK, before he moved to the Dallas area where he has served in several interim positions. David lives in Carrollton with his wife, Judy, who is beginning her eleventh year as the Synod of the Sun Executer. David has served small and moderate-sized churches. He and Judy have served two churches as co-pastors. He claims that his strength is pastoral care and worship. As an Interim Pastor he feels that he can move into new situations easily and can enter the "system" of the congregation with confidence and caring as the Session and congregation move, during a transition period of change and growth, toward preparing to call a new pastor. David and Judy enjoy camping, now mostly with a camper they pull, gardening, fellowship times, and entertaining in the neighborhood. Musically, he enjoys a wide range of offerings from Willie Nelson to Shostakovich. David has expressed his joy in being selected to begin this work to be First Presbyterian Church's new Interim Pastor.
